Mentoring can begin in so many different times of our lives.  It can begin at a young age when parents, grandparents or relatives are there to teach their young children the path to adulthood.  Some people may not have that support at home and seek mentors at school from a teacher, a coach or maybe a guidance counselor.  While others, may not have a mentor until they have reached adulthood.  The background of each individual can go from one extreme to another.  When you hire someone at your company, the applicant may be smart, poised, and well spoken, but do you really know what type of mentoring they were giving while growing up?  No.  It is impossible to guess.  Therefore, as an employer, it is so important to offer you employees a formal mentoring program to aid the employees to be successful in your organization.  Not only will mentoring help them to grow but it will also help your company retain valuable employees that one day may be mentoring your future leaders.

When will you start your program?
