Business Mentoring Matters

While there are many questions that a mentor should ask their mentoree at the start of a mentoring relationship, here are five questions that a mentor should consider asking:

1. What are your future goals in the organization?
2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
3. If you had an opportunity to do something different with your career, what would it be?
4. What are you looking to accomplish by participating in a mentoring program?
5. How can I best help you achieve your goals?

We have found that the questions above have helped mentors familiarize themselves with their mentorees.  Please feel free to share with us any additional questions that you have found useful when starting a mentoring relationship.
